Re: Swiss expats say Singaporeans not entitled to jobs in Singapore - R U TOOLAN OR N
This Swiss lawyer is a hypocrite, apparently only Swiss are entited to jobs in Switzerland.
If I am not married to my Swiss wife, I would not even have the right to live and work here, and that’s from someone who has lived in your country for 41 months! You ought to really get out of Singapore and move back to Switzerland!

Of the developed countries, the European countries are most hostile to immigrants. Pay & study there, or holiday there, not a problem at all. But want to live or work, you can't even get in, let alone feel welcome. Must work butt off, smile, prove yourself to a skeptical audience. Dare to go on national press and comment about controversial national issues? What arrogance!
So what fuels the arrogance? Is the SG environment too welcoming? SG worship ang-mo like in the old colonial days? NUS not good enough, so must pay a lot of money just to buy "stickers" to paste on the degrees like Duke or Yale? Who's going to be fooled to think they're the same thing? Certainly not the elite in the US, even if the man in the street in China or India are impressed.
The point is SG needs to re-examine our mindset that ang-mo = quality. They do have a lot of quality. But they're back home, in their exclusive clubs, universities, corporate HQ, controlling the world from there. We're making a mistake to assume that just because many of the best in China/India/SG are overseas, it's the same for them. They export the lousier stuff.
We're really selling ourselves short if we have little confidence in our own people, who're quite highly educated and disciplined.
