Suspected diamond thieves arrested in Geylang

SINGAPORE: Two men suspected of stealing a diamond worth about S$55,000 have been arrested.
The incident occurred at a store along Eu Tong Sen Street.
Police said they received a report on 27 June at around 7pm that a diamond displayed for sale was discovered missing from the store.
Officers from Central Police Division conducted investigations at the store and from the CCTV recordings, they managed to establish the descriptions of the suspects.
Two men, aged 61 and 63, were arrested at Geylang Road on Tuesday at about 7pm.
The suspects will be charged in court on Thursday.
If convicted, they may be sentenced to a maximum jail term of seven years and shall also be liable to a fine. - CNA/xq
