Yes cooling off period is neccessary to prevent freak result.
They are basically classified in 5 main cat.
1. Civil servents and stat board staff. Worry that their promotion may be affected. So they vote PAP just to play safe. They wanted to vote opposition but KIASU so vote PAP just in case.
2. Grassroots and RCs and their family members. They have their business interest or personel interest for PAP to remain there.
3. People who get con statement make by LKY and LHL that without PAP we cannot survive.
4. People who think that since there are already alternative voice by nominated MP and a a few opposition MP. There is no need for more opposition. ( They do not understand that voting right is more important than voices)
5. Lastly, people who think that there is no credible opposition candidates or party.
( Sadly our main media have successfully use by the PAP to disgrade the opposition. Not fogetting the amount of obstacles they created to prevent the smooth running of the opposition party)
Of course they are people who firmly believe that the PAP is a better choice. There is nothing wrong with it as that is their right. BUT how many % are these?
