This is not a complain but a lesson learn by wasting $152 on this scam shop from Shopee, that I would like to share with ladies who intend to buy electrical appliances from Shopee’s platform. So keyboard warriors please stay away, coz like I mentioned this is just sharing for awareness only.

Long story short, I bought a Jap brand pot from this seller in Nov after checking their reviews (back then the reviews were only on their delivery time and not usage) received item on 20 Nov, used it for the second time on 24 Dec. Power on but there was no heat, later on learn that the pot has short circuit due to voltage difference.
Contacted seller via webchat immediately after checking that I was not the only victim and they have removed the posting for this particular product. Was told that they did indicate the voltage difference on the fine print. I also contacted Shopee’s help desk who promised to do something but later on when I sent them videos on how the pot is not working as per their request, they came back with the same excuse as seller.

My point is very simple, which I also wrote to Shopee:

1. Majority of the people who buy these household appliances are women, even if it’s stated in the fine print, how many of them do you think have an idea on the voltage difference! I’m not trying to be rude or challenge anyone, but please just try to ask your wife or mum or sister and let me know if they know nuts about the voltage difference. Though its consumers’ responsibility to read, it is also seller’s responsibility to highlight! If they don’t then this is a misleading sales! It’s as good as asking a man to go to the pharmacy to buy sanitary pads with wings no wings, for heavy flow, light flow!

2. Do you think anyone will be stupid enough to buy a pot for $150 then buy a transformer/converter for $100++, when they jolly well can use the money to get a same set with local warranty at less than $200 from departmental stores??

3. Back to point 1, there are other sellers on Shopee’s platform that sells overseas products only meant for usage in whichever country they are imported from, but those sellers provide alternatives for adaptors/plugs so that the products can be used in SG, so is Shopee having different standards for all their sellers??

4. Did Shopee even take a look at how many victims are there who have been scammed by this seller and left a review on the seller’s page?? How many buyers had encountered the same problem as me?? But Shopee still condone such sellers and allow them to continue to sell on their platform!

If anyone knows how I can contact the other users who left their reviews on this seller’s page, please let me know. I hope to escalate the case with them to CASE.

I just pray hard, the scammer will not be able to scam more people online and get caught soon, even not, karma will find their way on people like them, just pray next time no one will scam their loved ones.

in sg, the 220v outlet will blow any 110v appliance into the junk heap. even if a step-down transformer is used, it has to be huge, heavy, and of the correct amperage. some appliances cum with a wide-mouth 110-220v power supply, while others have 2 types of voltage adaptors. sinkies are not so handy and knowledgable about diy stuff, thus forgivable.

Why can't sinkies pick up their own takeaway orders? Why is there are market for all this food delivery crap?

That description sounds exactly like that cloudy bitch here, who thinks that everyone should be on her side and support that hair-sniffing, nipple-pinching Biden fucker.

stupid ,when going overseas they know how to bring adaptor to use when plug in their phone, when buy online they should bd aware of voltage difference, dumb

Bhai,
Shopee? Really?
Did she buy because of that monkey promoting it?

Anyway, Shopee sounds like
"Sure Pee".

Buying electrical appliances from Shopee or Lazada is a stupid mistake. Better to buy from Carousell if you want cheap. I bought a 2nd hand microwave oven 3 years ago from Carousell at a dirt cheap price, and it's still working beautifully till this very day without any problems.

What a pathetic cunt.
