Over at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, my orthopaedic surgeon charges me $500 for consultation, quoted me $60,000 for a total knee replacement and after my daughter fractured her toe, charged $8,000 to fix it and $600 for a weekly change of dressing and x-ray! That is how private doctors earn money despite astronomical clinic rental.
