Addressing staff yesterday evening, Mr Han Fook Kwang the outgoing ST Editor urged them to preserve and strengthen what he called 'The Straits Times' DNA', which is geared to serving readers, being true to them and their needs, and providing balanced stories.

'This is even more important in the new media landscape, to differentiate ourselves from what is out there,' he said.

'This DNA is special to ST and the result of what we have achieved over 166 years. We have to make sure we never lose it.'

Is this guy bi-polar or what? To claim 166 years of DNA is factually wrong in the first place. Almost the entire editorial team led by Lynn Holloway jumped ship when PAP came into power.

what a bloody load of unadultrated crap.

not entirely wrong, DNA comes under evolutionary forces too.
transposable elements aside, the political incest has done much damage to the genome
is the ST still the 154th or has the ranking continued to drop? :D:D:D

Not when you are talking the 166 year history. This only began in 1974.
