you missed out the other 2 parts - one, where he echoed what he firmly believed - that leadership is in-born...like he said of himself, he is 70% born as a leader, the balance, he learnt it. Is he saying then...only his Lee family is fit to rule? bcos all the others not "born" of elitest family will continue to remain stupid and as followers, if I can infer from his statement?

We have to understand that old man's views. He believes firmly in eugenics, which is the controversial concept that smart parents bear smart children.

Suzhou, along with Shanghai is traditionally a breeding ground for smarter China offspring, that is also the richer belt of China. That is one of the many reasons that Suzhou project is born.

Additionally, the Chinese culture believes in spreading the seeds, and when you are rich, you can afford to fuck around. You can spread smarter seeds around. Why not?
