Stocks: A simple question

Bros. I am not familiar on this, so I ask.

Suppose one own a stock and it shows CD.
If you sell the stock, will you still get the dividend ?

I was told by someone that only if it is shown XD
one can get the dividend, if you happen to sell the stock.

Which is correct ?

u get dividend oni if ... wen u buy, iz showing cd ... wen u sel, iz showing xd ...
