In a news release, SingTel’s managing director of television Goh Seow Eng said: “We are thrilled to have scored the winning goal that makes our brand new mio Sports channels the home of the best European Football in Singapore.

The announcement by SingTel regarding its screening rights to the Uefa Champions League just hours before the first live match garnered close to 300 angry comments overnight.

Some comments got personal, attacking the telco's staff members managing the page.

SingTel's Digital Marketing director wrote a firm response on Facebook, saying that while they take pride in giving customers a lot of latitude with their Facebook page, they take offence when attacks on their social media relations staff turns personal.

According to lawyers TNP spoke to, SingTel will not be able to take legal action despite the offensive comments.

The best way to get back at companies is to vote with your wallet. Don't give your money to them.

Stop subscribing to Singtel for your internet, mobile and tv.
And if you dabble in shares, don't buy Singtel shares (their dividends suck anyway).

Watch the UCL matches online.

Don't get mad, get even.
