Hi Sam,
what are your views to what Wozniak said? Are you agreeing to it about Singapore?
That's is why sinkies sound so stupid and easily manipulated. I am glad that I have avoided them.
Absolutely. It's the reason why Singapore produces thousands of scholars with straight As but a big fat zero when it comes to anything that can make a difference in this world.
In the old days, the excuse would be that Singapore is a small market. However, in this connected world, there is nothing stopping any sinkie from conquering cyberspace the way many others have done.
Actually, the counter point to his argument about Singapore was Sim Wong Woo. Polygrad that made it big with soundblaster, did kind of change the world where it comes to sound for the PC. Unfortunately, Creative is down the drains. So that might also be correct that Singapore is indeed a desert for innovative thinkers.
Do you also agree about what he said about NZ and Australia?

Actually Sim did make his mark for creating the Sound Blaster which was the standard and a must fpr everu PC made at one time. Just like any inventor whose creation was made better by others, it does not mean he failed.
Sim also did mentioned how Singapore is a bad place for innovation in his article "The no U-turn syndrome". He might be innovative, but Singapore as an environment is not.
.......
It's actually quite hilarious but it's also a sad reflection of Singapore society's fear of crossing any perceived boundaries.

Singaporeans are a pretty paranoid lot when it comes to dealing with figures of authority. You can tell from the reactions in this forum whenever a glitch occurs.
If they can't log on, it's the govt blocking access. If it's running slow, it's the ISPs sabotaging the site. If they post something reactionary, they get cold feet after thinking things over and start worrying about their identities being harvested after the host sells out.
