The Singapore Tourism Board is working with Changi Airport Group, the two integrated resorts and other travel companies to attract more PRC tourists to visit Singapore with a $1 million campaign.

Over the past 4 months, Singapore has seen a declining number of Chinese tourists and so the STB is trying to reignite the flow of PRC tourists visiting Singapore with a new "Rediscover Singapore From Your Heart" campaign.

The campaign will run from now until October and will include giving goodie bags to tourist who book packages to Singapore through road shows held in major cities in China.
Tourism analysts have explained that the decline in tourism from China in the recent months could be due to the political instability in Thailand and also the lowered confidence in air travel following the disappearance of MH370.

These issues have impacted tourism in Singapore as many Chinese tourists come to Singapore as part of a South East Asia tour including countries such as Thailand and Malaysia.

China accounts for the biggest contributor of tourism dollars in Singapore with over 1.24 million visitors arriving in Singapore in the first half of last year, their spending overtaking Indonesian visitors.

The Chinese tourist in Singapore spent almost $1.52 billion on tourism expenses such as airfares , hotel stays and tour packages. Sightseeing and entertainment outside of these is not included in the $1.52 billion figure.

The STB is trying to promote Singapore as a tourism destination on its own instead of part of a package of destinations in South East Asia. This way, tourism in Singapore will be less impacted by regional instability.

What is there to see in Spore that you can't find is Bangkok, KL, HK,.....
These places are also much cheaper than Spore.

PAP has done a good job into turning Spore into a place without a soul where tourists are more likely to be fleeced.
