In an editorial published in The Straits Times of today, the state-controlled media criticizes Workers' Party for harping on the dispute with NEA.

I don't think it is criticism of WP per se. If you read it properly, it is a collection of motherhood statements. Here is an example "Most residents want their town councils to be effective and accountable". Tell me who wants a TC to be ineffective and unaccountable. The entire article does not shed anything new, does not provide a view previously not explored or even raise a debate that benefits anyone.

When you have a monopoly consumers become much poorer as the quality and value starts moving apart. The notion of being objective remains a notion as the paymaster beats the drum.

Someone was asked to put this up, he or she has clearly no interest in the subject and did a page filler.

Extremely poorly written and context-less article, with little doubt as to the writer's intention. Would anyone have sanctioned such an article if the incident had happened in a PAP ward? Would the whole matter even have erupted had it been a PAP ward?

As Scroobal says, collection of motherhood statements. Who doesn't want efficient TCs and to stay away from unnecessary politicking? Very disingenuous however for the govt agency to start the politicking, and then for the SCM to put a lid on the matter by making a thinly veiled attempt to suggest it was the WP TC who started the politicking.

Its like after the school principle had settled a fight started by the notorious schoolyard bully punching a laboratory technician, the school magazine publishes an article saying lab technicians are paid a decent salary and they should get on with their work and not get involved in squabbles.

I am 100% sure it was written by the Straits Times Opinion Editor. I met her countless times at Guardian's Pharmacy buying basket loads of Listerine. Heard whisperings it's because of the things she put in her mouth 24/7.

scroobal,

Please ask your kawan-kawan at the state-controlled media to issue more of such "motherhood" "motherly" statements in regards to the opposition.

P.S.: "motherhood" = "condescending", "to talk down to"
