For me, safety, on-time-performance (punctuality) and aviailability of direct flight routes rank higher than service, food and frills like in-flight entertainment.

That said, I find the service on many East Asian airlines superior to SQ, whose flight attendants tend to pander to AMDK. SQ's food has also deteriorated in the wake of COVID cost-cutting measures. The Chinese airlines (Air China, China Southern) are now in the top league in terms of aircraft age and maintenance, leg room, and food quality.

I would ask for no belt if they allow and grip myself to anything I can find.

I doesn't believe a seat belt would do any help when a disaster occur.
Their safety procedure is such that it case we hit our head against the ceiling during turbulence. But in practical it won't help much.

Usually passengers die from the burning flame during mishap landings.
