Quite agree. Singapore have higher % of bad service and attitude compare to others country.
Just see the SLS most employee are chow Ah Beng service attitude and most shop selling phone also have same bad service.

Not interested in a chow ah Beng towkay dog barking to help its master.

Can anyone confirm if this US educated ah Beng is really gay or have a PRC whore as wife?

Most likely he is not married but he likes to mix with Thai people and can speak some sub-standard market-place Thai. Mediacorp even produced a travel adventure documentary of him in one of the islands off Thailand. Sometime ago,saw him once in the Golden Mile Complex basement pub drinking.Khop Khun Kap !

Kenny Yap is a CEO of a listed company, multimillionaire because he knows how to create jobs and boost the economy

His company shares have surged by more than a third in two months, rewarding shareholders who have a keen eye for talent

Unlike many people who do not see the truth, refuse to change for the better and continue to complain bitterly and unreasonably

Worse still are those who cannot argue logically and resort to insulting the parents of those they disagree with

Unfortunately many local youngsters these days are quite hopeless, being too Westernised. When I hire locals, I make sure they have solid Confucian grounding and I tend to favour schools like Hwa Chong which focuses on Eastern values of frugality, hard work and filial piety

Annabel Chong embodied some of those... she worked hard, she was filled like a pie and had fuckality.

I said exactly this for years already as can be seen from my various previous threads

Work attitude a concern: Qian Hu chief

By AMANDA EBER

(SINGAPORE) No matter how much they pay, there are some jobs that Singaporeans just don't want to do, said Kenny Yap, head of Qian Hu Group.

I understand Kenny Yap has been employing foreigners for many years already. The last we heard him talking down workers during CNA discussion was that he mentioned he wanted his local Manager to clean toilet regardless of their role and educations. He wanted everyone to get down and do dirty works. He complained that when the candidate heard his view, they decided not to take up the offer.

A good boss should always provide good career prospect and meet individual aspiration and there are many companies out there better than Kenny's offer, no need to clean toilet or scrub floor. Kenny staff are lowly paid and the working distant sucks without direct bus to his company. I have had bad experience with his cocky staff who do nothing but gossip in one corner about the customers, perhaps they were not well compensated by their boss.

Kenny needs to wake up his mind and understand what it takes to be a good boss. Anyway I doubt a family business like his will understand the bigger scheme of things and he is not the only employer in Singapore competing for staff. Working in his farm is not conducive at all, other than trying to be productive, he should stop spewing nonsence and try to get down and mull over what went wrong with him and his family style of lousy leadership.

it is understandable why some singaporeans are pro singaporean worker. but they failed to realise few things :-

* if employer increases the salary of singaporeans (in order to attract them to work), the price of product must increase. so please ask yourself whether are u willing to pay extra 30% to 50% dining at a restaurant without complaining?please think hard.....................

Since when did Singapore cost of living and price of products ever decrease - with or without pay rise. Like I mentioned, even way in days where Kenny has excessive cheap foreign workers, his aquarium products sucks big money and priced beyond many Local fish shops.

Nothing to shout about. It's still way below its 17.5cents high on 12 Jan 2010. Besides, many penny stocks have also increased in tandem with the market rally during the last 2 months and QianHu is nothing exceptional.

The whole fucking problem with today's SMEs is that they are all addicted to cheap imported labor, just like being on marijuana. Furthermore, the fucking PAPies and MOM are just contributing towards their addiction further by having lax regulations and uncontrollably opening the floodgates for foreign workers into Sinkie Land, although they may seem to be "stringent" on the surface. They should all go for cold turkey treatment, rid of this addiction and pay their employees as according to local market rates. Don't short-change the Sinkie workers.

Money is secondary. The biggest problem is finding Singaporeans with a work ethic. They don't seem to exist anymore. Most Sinkies are too busy bleating about how unfair life is to do an honest day's work for an honest day's pay.

You didn't hear LKY said no money is the big issue, you will get a dose of incompetent soul to work if you don't pay them well. You seem to have forgotten your idol's wisdom/hard truth,

The problem with Singapore is, after near 50 years of indepepdent under PAP, we still have so many Tan Ah Kow and Chow Ah Ter Pte Ltd companies all hiding behind the doors milking every bit out of foreigners and Sinkies in the name of Singaporeans not willing to take "unpopular job"?

As long as the prc worker does not stand over you and shout "We PRCs are not to be bullied", it should be ok.

If PAP was not tight-fist, if our SMEs were productive and intelligent, if our MOE is world class, Singapore Tuas area would have became Asia's selicon valley. How come today Tuas area is reeked with stray dogs, flies, pollution, broken structures and cheap foreign labours from village, like some kind of 3rd world facilities, and yet our graduates were driving, green, blue, red and white taxis? Because all the clueless SMEs were congregated in that area, struggling from hands to mouth and not willing to consolidate. They have greater ego as much as Singaporeans workers. They asked the govt to help them look at the bigger picture, yet they remain myopic and want the best of both world for themselves and not for this cuntry. The lesser their presence in Singapore the better, they should just relocate themselves with their miserable business to 3rd world country for cheap labour and spare Singapore more space for highly-skilled business.

I would advise Mr. Kenny Yap to be more discreet. Singaporeans with good work ethic will not want to go near you since the moment they hear what you say about their fellow Singaporeans, warning flags are immediately raised. Of coure to you foreigners are awesome. They are here to earn our Singapore dollar and then retire back home feeling rich. Singaporeans are not stupid. The young ones will simply beg their parents for money to upgrade themselves and hope to get into a better paying job. The old ones, having had their HDB flats paid up, will just stay at home, rent out a room and live simply rather than take your nonsense.

And frankly, Mr. Yap, go upgrade your social etiquette and public communication skills as well. You might be a boss but frankly, your attitude with regards to working relationships reminds me of the typical Sinkie - i.e. its someone else problem.

And Mr. Yap, you are nothing special. Your business is successful is because for reasons that remain unknown to us, they caved despite all the warnings past economists in government employ posted to them and open the floodgates in panick. Why don't you emulate Tony Hsieh, the founder of Zappos, who managed to create a culture where employees are convinced their jobs are fulfilling despite the fact that their pay is often lower than what the market is willing to pay at their level.

You misunderstood. When I said that money is not an issue, it means that I have no problems paying a person well if he/she can perform. The main issue involves finding such Singaporeans. Most of them want the rewards but they don't want the responsibility that goes with a well paying job. For example, many don't want to travel, don't want irregular hours, don't want to work on weekends and don't want to work overtime when the need arises.

Foreigners, on the other hand, have no problems going the extra mile and they're willing to do it for less money.

If he is willing to pay well I don't see that as a problem, unless he want to max profit and lower operation cost than I"am sad to say that there won't be any local willing to work with such a lower pay. He himself must set a good example to lower his salary or pass the saving as a reward to the staff.
