“One would not have expected something like this to happen,” said the neighbour of the recently deceased.

Indeed.

Some of us travel frequently between Singapore and Malaysia, whether it’s a short one day getaway to JB or a trip to KL for business meetings. But accidents like this strike when they are the least expected.

You never know when your last goodbye would be.

And sadly, for this Singaporean man’s family, the day he left for KL was their last.

Car Skidded After Minor Accident With Motorcycle

Sales Director Mr Chua Zhijian, 37, was driving his Volkswagen Passat when he grazed a Honda EX5 motorcycle.

What initially seemed like a small accident immediately escalated to a major one when he lost control of his vehicle.

His car skidded and crashed into a water-filled barrier at a bridge under construction in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The incident happened at around 3am on the East-West Link Expressway near the Mid Valley Megamall, according to New Straits Times.

Died At The Scene

While the motorcyclist escaped with light scrapes on his knees, Chua wasn’t as lucky.

The KL Fire and Rescue Department received an alert on the accident at 3.09am and despatched 17 personnel.

According to China Press, rescue personnel draggedhis body out of the vehicle.

Chua was found and pronounced dead by a paramedic team at the scene.

The accident is currently being investigated and the body was taken to the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Centre for a post-mortem.

He leaves behind his wife and two sons aged two and three.

Life Is Precious

Tell your loved ones you love them now, you never know when your last goodbye would be.

Take care of yourself for your loved ones. My heart goes out to Mr Chua’s wife and his two young sons.
