S'porean jailed in JB for graft
JOHOR BARU - A SINGAPOREAN trader has been fined RM10,000 (S$4156.80 dollars) and jailed for a day by a sessions courts for attempting to bribe a Road Transport Department (JPJ) officer. Mr Ng Chai Hock, 45, pleaded guilty to bribing L/Kpl Samsol Faizal Ibrahim with RM83 as an inducement to not take action against him for speeding. The incident occurred at about 6pm at the Lima Kedai toll on May 30.Sessions judge Salawati Djambari also ordered Mr Ng to be jailed for seven months if he failed to pay the fine. -- THE STAR/ANN
