S'pore to raise retirement age to 64 in 2026

She hates her own reporting boss to the core but she is just a mahjong kaki of the big boss but pushes her lame weight around
There is a bulldog at my company who was fired from his 2 previous jobs, but still got recruited by my boss. Now he seems to be terminating staff who cross his path. Some people seem to be able to do no wrong in the eyes of the big boss.

Yeah. Dislike this kind of shit people who terminate staff who crosses their path so they get to keep their jobs because it’s so annoying this old auntie witch don’t do anything, can’t even ask her staff to do things because there are none.

Old auntie sneaks off the very minute her reporting boss leaves the office (could be 2pm he leaves and she sneaks off at 230pm when work day ends at 6pm)

Don’t know what kind of stuff they have been feeding to their bosses to their bosses think they can do no wrong

Even 30 year olds are not spared from retrenchment. Too many old birds hogging the job market with not many fresh new jobs coming up
TBH, they need maximise profit at minimum cost…and there are lesser opportunities due to rise of Tiongkok in last 20yrs… moving ahead we see more global business uncertainty n increased competition n rise of AI / Robot

Samsters must be glad that we have retired or are nearing the end of our careers because of age. I really worry for our young who face such an uncertain world of spiralling inflation, automation, job loss and other uncertainties.

I have seen old auntie from another department who gave everyone hell including the snr HR business partner and her own boss not to mention her staff under her mainly all forced to leave due to poor performance mete out by this mean old auntie

today i decided to retire. Enjoy my day, then tomorrow i go back to work and feeling fresh, then i go back to retirement the following day. i retired whenever i want. Maybe next week i retired and see if i want to carry it on over the following week too. Sometime retirement is a bit boring so i go back to work mode again.
2 years ago when I decided to leetire from my full time work and do what you mentioned, and went to look for a tram driver job in the night safari.
The tram supervisor told me I needed to commit a min of 2-3 days/wk of min 4 hours/day. I thought this was alright so I went ahead with it. Before I started work, I needed to go for a jab.
But after I started work, I leelised it cannot accommodate to my leequirement, becos I was expected to plan ahead the days that I prefer to work, at least 1 week in advance.
I cannot just leeport there as and when I feel like it.
Then I began to look for other more flexible ones.
Then I leelised there is no such job available besides grab driving. But I doesn't like to rent a car and waste the money.
Eventually the only way to fulfil what you mentioned is a - GAMBLER.

JOHOR BAHRU: Five motorcyclists were injured in a collision along the Johor-Singapore Causeway on Monday (Jan 5), according to Malaysian authorities.

The incident went viral online, with photos and videos of the pile-up circulating on social media.

Johor Bahru Selatan police chief Raub Selamat said the incident is believed to have occurred at about 9.20am on Monday morning on the Causeway towards Singapore, when traffic was heavy but weather conditions were fine.

All five riders were Malaysian men aged between 29 and 50, according to local news agency Bernama.

They sustained minor injuries and were taken to Sultanah Aminah Hospital for treatment.

Initial investigations found that all of them were on their way to work in Singapore at the time, said Rauf.

“During the accident, one of the riders was believed to have stopped and made a U-turn to retrieve a personal item that had fallen onto the road,” he said in a statement on Monday.

“Four other motorcyclists who were approaching were unable to avoid him and collided with the motorcycle.”

The police chief also referenced a viral video on Facebook posted by Community Roda Johor which showed several motorcycles piled up on the roadway, with more than 10 riders gathering at the scene and some waving their arms.

The case has been classified under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for careless and inconsiderate driving.

Police have urged members of the public who witnessed the incident to come forward with information.

“The Royal Malaysia Police urge all road users to always exercise caution when driving, to comply with road traffic laws and to ensure adequate rest and that vehicles are in good condition in order to prevent accidents,” read the statement on Monday.

Seniors have to accept that after a certain age, we need to stop work for mental and physical health reasons. Boredom alone should not lead us to do some menial job that taxes us physically.
