yup, sinkies drive flashy new cars to pick up family and friends at airport while i have to walk to the mrt station near t3. like all foreigners at the airport, i feel poor when i arrive in sg.

u must be the low caste foreigner,all the foreigners i know are staying at the ritz calrton hotel and sipping a dry martini at clarke quay and listening to Satie in the checkin lounge.

Singapore expensive because the s$ keeps going up. And because of this, it attracts more investment from the rich in neighboring mostly ethnic Chinese into its banks and properties.if they buy S$ assets, it appreciates even more than their local assets which depreciated in USD terms. And the profit taxes attracts multinationals to base their activities and operations here, lowest in region. All the profit makes elsewhere, are booked here, so PAP gets tax money generated from neighboring countries.

True, and in Singapore, people flaunt their wealth. In North America, where Canada and USA are supposed to be rich nations, you don't see exotic cars like Ferraris, Lamborghinis, or Maseratis as often as in Singapore. And in the parks in Singapore, how often does one see the owner walking his/her pariah dog? More often, one will see the maid walking an expensive pedigree breed like a Husky, Pomeranian, or some other thousand dollar breed pooch! Many Singaporeans think nothing of spending 200 dollars or more for a seafood dinner of crabs! They do this very frequently, price is not their concern, but parking space is!!!
