S'pore opposition leader freed from bankruptcy

Chee's discharge won't make any difference to SDP from its present state.

Chee has been leading SDP for years. Both SDP members and supporters know that when there's SDP, there's Chee. They became members and supporters because of Chee. So it doesn't make a difference whether he can contest or not.

It makes a difference to him (Chee) personally. Instead of someone else, he can be the one contesting at elections, speaking at rallies and gunning to win. But it doesn't make a difference to SDP as a whole.

Another person whom a difference is made to is the unknown candidate who would have been fielded in Chee's place in 2016 had Chee not gotten out of bankruptcy.

CSJ must know that he cannot win in the middle ground and his support are mainly from the far left amd left.

CSJ is my kind of politician. If he contests the 2016 election, I will dedicate a whole section here to publicise his cause.

Wah lan eh! Who let the dogs out man?!

Hope that CSJ will not undo the fantastic job WP has done so far man.

IT REMAINS TO BE SEEN whether CSJ learns from his past that his outbursts at PAP only served to churn up the support of the silent majority for PAP.

CSJ must know that he cannot win in the middle ground and his support are mainly from the far left amd left.

To demolish PAP, any opposition party or parties must win the middle ground. That is where the silent majority populates and cause the SWING one way or the other.

He seems to have gone past that stage now. But I could be wrong. Let's see where all this lead to

CSJ is a true patriot and son of singapore....
60.1% of loser sinkies dun deserve him....no matter his day will come when he is vindicated.
Today marks the beginning of a new dawn!
Three cheers for our own freedom fighter! CSJ the lionheart!

Are you saying CSJ is too good for some Singaporeans? I hope he does not think that way.

I'm sure he does not, that is why he is still leading the party....
CSJ machiam the rejected messiah.....stupid 60.1%

Noted on your point. SDP recent moves to engage people on the ground signals their intention to appeal to more than their usual support base. To me at least.

I hope SDP will do more and do them frequently, to wake more 60% up.

Current PAP leaders are not so mean, first sign of weakness?

Dr Chee can take this opportunity, be like Mudland's Anwar, unite all to form an opposition coalition.

A LEEpards never changes their spots, faded spots, but it is there, you don't be complacent.

I will always maintain that CSJ was the heavy artillery that softened the battlefield enough for WP to send in the ground troops.

By hammering away deep into PAP territory, he defined, in a manner of speaking, the opposition party OB markers on how they could conduct themselves. From the voters point of view, he gave voters food for thought as they remained as spectators, but also inadvertently defined what Singaporeans should rightfully demand from a government that allegedly served the people's interests.

Unpalatable as his early tactics were to the establishment and mainstream voters, it was only when voters saw the difference between SDP and WP that they then realised what the "middle ground" for opposition politics should be.

No disrespect to WP, who have virtually ignored the cyberspace battlegrounds and very disconcertingly so (in my own opinion).

But so long as WP shines in Aljunied, the testament to their good works can be easily showcased come 2016 and there will be no stopping WP in getting another GRC. (hopefully Cunt Sing', Mah Bow Wow's or Siah Suay's) For this is something I sincerely hope to see WP succeed in.

But CSJ has mellowed somewhat. He kept his cool during 2011 and was more the Strategist than the Attention-seeker. Case in point was when VB was happily going off the tangent about VW's sexuality during the hustings and cyberspace came alive. Only then did CSJ make a very statesman-like statement to the effect of a veiled threat that caused VB to back off, change tack and proverbially run off with his tail between the legs.

If ever there is a change in power and when history books are written with a more balanced eye on this era of politics, I believe CSJ contribution's in awakening the Singaporean mind to opposition politics would be well discussed.

Not true that WP has benefitted in any way from SDP.

Chee has done more for activism than the opposition cause. That is why activists (whom a large portion are bloggers or active online) like him and opposition do not.

I am not saying that is not counted as a contribution by Chee. But you are pointing at the wrong direction to the wrong beneficiaries.

Those cock SDP supporters here must be damn happy. Let's see how long before Chee gets into trouble and needs people to get him out again. He is liability than asset. SDP would do much better without him.
