On Jan 10, the Straits Times published a poll of 50 residents from Punggol. This poll is now a subject of an investigation. The poll indicated that the PAP will win with incumbency playing a big part. It was conducted by 3 journalists.
On Jan 19, political analysts from local think tanks, academia and amongst which included those associated with the PAP concluded that a PAP victory was unsure. I revealed that in this forum the same night.
On Jan 21, Elgin Toh, the lead journalist for the poll wrote an excellent article pointing to defeat. It was written in an unusually high brow and academic style and loads of technicality. I was surprised it past the scruitineers.
On the night of Jan 26, within an hour of results being declared, Jeremy Au Yeong authored an online article and the following paragraph appeared.
"For some, the WP victory today had been on the cards since the seat became vacant after the disgraceful exit of former Speaker Michael Palmer last month."
As everyone knows that since Mangogate broke, the term "disgraceful" did not appear in SCM. In fact it carried stories about his honourable conduct in stepping down. Within an hour of the loss, suddenly Palmer conduct is "disgraceful". Why the change?
If you are old enough, you would know that prostitution, the world's oldest profession is not confined to the lower income and whores need not be less qualified academically. One of the most gifted and intelligent child prodigy became a whore in the UK. SPH journalists are no different. These are men and women who are capable of quality journalism but are prepared to prostitute themselves.
