[h=2]Facebook founder Eduardo Saverin gives undisclosed sum to former Miss Singapore Universe Rachel Kum to start her own cosmetic line[/h]Posted by temasektimes on May 5, 2012
What’s the relationship between Facebook and cosmetics? They appear to be worlds apart, but that still doesn’t stop one of Facebook original founders Eduardo Saverin (pic: left with Rachel Kum, source: fuckwarezone forum) for giving an undisclosed sum to former Miss Singapore Universe Rachel Kum to start her own cosmetic company Rachel K, according to reports by English tabloid Daily Mail.
Mr Saverin who comes from a wealthy Brazilian family, was friends with Mark Zuckerberg when they attended Harvard in 2004 and originally invested in Facebook which left him with an estimated $2billion fortune, according to Forbes.
Though Mr Saverin’s initial state of 33 percent has been watered down to 2 percent, he will still be an incredibly rich man when Facebook launched its IPO on May 18.
He now resides in Singapore where he has become well known for his flamboyant playboy lifestyle of being in the company of the super-rich, high society crowd and supermodels including former Miss Singapore Rachel Kum.
Mr Saverin made the stunning announcement during a launch for the brand at a rooftop party
“With a company like Facebook, it’s not just three people deciding how the world communicates, it’s really about providing a tool so your customers can be themselves…I think it really inspired me to see that she [Rachel Kum] went from Miss Singapore to pushing her line, that she’s going with her passion.”
Mr Saverin did not reveal the amount of money he invested in Ms Kum’s company.
