The experienced serviceman should be able to tell the difference between a live round and a blank. First by using his eyes to look. If that fails, blanks are much lighter. So the loaded magazine would've been much lighter, He should've been sentenced to death by firing squad. And victim was lucky he wore body armour.

All I can say is that at least got a soldier shoots another soldier other than himself…unlike our SAF.
