US has "air superiority" over Iran, Joint Chiefs chairman says​

The impact of the strikes in Iran has given the United States “air superiority” over the country, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine said at a press briefing today.

“The combined impact of these strikes, swift, precise and overwhelming has resulted in the establishment of local air superiority. This air superiority will not only enhance the protection of our forces, but also allow them to continue the work over Iran,” Caine told reporters.

Caine also said additional US forces are continuing to flow into the region with more forces expected to arrive Monday.

“This deployment included thousands of service members from all branches, hundreds of advanced fourth and fifth generation fighters, dozens of refueling tankers, the Lincoln and Ford carrier strike group and their embarked air wings, sustained flow of munitions, fuel, supplies, all supported with command and control intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance network,” Caine said.

“And the flow of forces continues today,” he said. “In fact, Adm. (Brad) Cooper will receive additional forces even today,” referring to the commander of the United States Central Command.

CNN has reported that the US military was building up its posture in the Middle East for weeks and Caine said today it has had the intended effect to “daze and confuse” Iran. Efforts to knock out their space and cyber operations left them “without the ability to see, coordinate, or respond effectively.”

US urges citizens to leave Lebanon immediately​

The United States has urged its citizens in Lebanon to leave the country immediately.

"We urge US citizens not to travel to Lebanon. If you are in the country, depart Lebanon NOW while commercial flight options remain available," the US Embassy in Beirut writes on X.

"The security situation in Lebanon is volatile and unpredictable. Airstrikes have occurred throughout the country, especially in the south, the Beqaa, and parts of Beirut."

Only a few minutes ago, our colleagues in the Lebanese capital reported hearing a large explosion in Dahieh, a stronghold of Iran-affiliated Hezbollah.

Trump to address war against Iran during 11:00 am ET remarks​

President Donald Trump is expected to address the war against Iran during remarks at 11:00 am ET, the White House said on Monday.

It will be the first time since the strikes started on Saturday that the president will directly address reporters, as his previous messages have been pre-recorded videos disseminated on Truth Social.

The 11:00 am ET event is expected to then continue on as planned, and the president is set to award the Medal of Honor.

Iran issues warning to ships passing through Strait of Hormuz​

The warning comes from Ebrahim Jabbari, an adviser to the Commander-in-Chief of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), speaking on state TV.

He says that the strait is closed and warned ships: "They should not come to this region. They will certainly face a serious response from us."

Jabbari also says Americans are "thirsty for the region's oil" and that Iran will "strike their pipelines in the region and will not allow oil to be exported from this area".

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most important shipping routes and the most vital oil transit choke point. About one-fifth of the world’s oil and gas passes through the strait.

The US State Department on Monday urged US citizens to “DEPART NOW” from countries throughout the Middle Eat “due to serious safety risks.”

The post on X from the State Department’s top official for consular affairs called on US citizens to depart “using available commercial travel” from Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, the West Bank and Gaza, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, the United Arab Emirates, and Yemen.

“Americans who need State Department assistance arranging to depart via commercial means, CALL US 24/7 at +1-202-501-4444 (from abroad) and +1-888-407-4747 (from the U.S. and Canada). ENROLL in http://step.state.gov to get the latest security updates from the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate,” Assistant Secretary Mora Namdar wrote.

The urgent message comes amid a barrage of Iranian strikes on countries throughout the Middle East – many specifically targeting US assets – in response to US and Israeli military operations. Many of those countries had urged US citizens to shelter in place.

US preparing for "major uptick" in attacks in the next 24 hours, official says​

The US is preparing for a “major uptick” in attacks in Iran over the next 24 hours, a senior US official told CNN.

The US has assessed that a first round of attacks has achieved the goal of weakening Iranian defenses, and the next phase will heavily focus on destroying the country’s missile production, unmanned aerial vehicles and naval capability, the official said.

President Donald Trump previewed escalating attacks in an interview with CNN earlier Monday, saying, “We haven’t even started hitting them hard. The big wave hasn’t even happened. The big one is coming soon.”

The senior official said that that missile stocks are running low, especially Tomahawk land attack missiles and SM-3 interceptors.

Trump told CNN he thought the war with Iran would last four weeks but it was running “ahead of schedule.”

CNN has reached to the Pentagon for comment.

The US Embassy in Saudi Arabia was hit by two suspected Iranian drones, two sources familiar with the matter told CNN.

There were no initial reports of injuries, according to one of the sources.

The hit on the US Embassy in the Saudi capital of Riyadh is among several US military and diplomatic installations that have been targeted by Iran. CNN reported that the US Embassy in Kuwait was also hit on Sunday and Monday.

CNN has reached out to the State Department for comment.

General Dan Caine offered a detailed timeline of the operation, including the message Central Command received from President Trump as he gave the final go-ahead.

“At 15:38, 3:38pm, on Friday, February 27, the United States Central Command, through the Secretary of War, received the final go from President Trump,” Caine said.

“The president directed, and I quote, ‘Operation Epic Fury is approved. No aborts. Good luck. Close.’”

That timeline would put Trump aboard Air Force One, en route to Texas, when he delivered the order. Trump landed in Corpus Christi, Texas, at 3:50 p.m. ET.

In his speech later that day, Trump suggested his mind wasn’t fully made up.

“We have a big decision to make,” he told a crowd in Corpus Christi, where he was promoting his energy agenda. He said the decision was “not easy,” and said Iran had long been engaged in malign behavior

President Donald Trump today sharply criticized Democratic leaders who have condemned his decision to launch military strikes on Iran, accusing them of opposing the operation for political reasons.

“The Radical Left Democrats, a Party that has completely lost its way, are complaining bitterly about the very necessary and important attack, by the United States and Israel, on Iran. What most people understand is that they are only complaining BECAUSE I DID IT and, if I didn’t do it, they would be screaming — Why didn’t “TRUMP” attack Iran, he should do it, IMMEDIATELY?” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post.

“The fact is, whatever I do, they will be on the opposite side. These people are SICK, CRAZY, and DEMENTED, but America, despite them all, is now BIGGER, BETTER, AND STRONGER THAN EVER BEFORE,” the president wrote.

Trump, who spent his first full day back at the White House Monday since the US and Israel launched strikes that killed Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Hosseini Khamenei, told CNN that the US is “knocking the crap” out of Iran – but that the “big wave” is yet to come.

Satellite images reveal new damage to Iranian nuclear site​

Satellite photos from spatial intelligence company Vantor captured over the past 48 hours reveal damage to the Natanz nuclear facility, one of Iran’s most sensitive military installations and its largest uranium enrichment center.

A large warehouse and two smaller, two-story buildings were impacted, according to CNN’s analysis of the images. The structures were access points for workers and vehicles to access Natanz’s underground facilities, according to the Institute for Science and International Stability which monitors Iran’s nuclear program.

This visual evidence appears to contradict International Atomic Energy Agency chief Rafael Grossi’s statement earlier Monday that there was “no indication” any nuclear installations in Iran had been struck.

This damage to the facility appears to be relatively small when compared to two US strikes on the same facility in June of last year, when American forces hit the site with bunker-busting munitions and cruise missiles.
