Investment in automation is good for long term large scale businesses with an expectation of reasonably steady demand flow. But this is unlikely the case for companies in service industry.

Why worry about the paint, you plan to keep your car till the coe expires? Very few people do that here. 5 years of occasional machine 'abuse' will do nothing to the paint. Polish it once and it's like new.
