Tried spotting otters at east coast today and found Buddhists releasing crabs instead. They said it was to free the creatures from the pain of being tied up and cooked. I am not sure if the creatures will survive in the open seas though as these are m&d crabs. You cannot eat crabs that have been dead for too long....
Crabs have to be cook immediately after they die....that's why they are always kill just before being cooked
