That is the most rational justification for the use of the A-bomb after tremendous loss from Yankee lives from the Pacific campaign. The record since the American strike back points towards Japan losing in the end. The Soviet theory is one of the theories for use of the A-bomb.

The Japs don't give a shit about the malays, as far as they are concerned, they are the superior race. They shot up the malay regiment and pretty much wiped them out in the battle of Pasir Panjang. They used the mutual mistrust of the malays for chinese to their advantage. Your enemy is my enemy. That is why many malays were in the auxiliaries and worked with the Japs as policemen and informants. If the japs needed to bring in a chinese for questioning, the malays would lead them to him. No one is asking to change history. An apology from japan for the Sook Ching massacre and other atrocities committed against singaporeans would suffice to start. And since hey are such a rich country they are welcome to make reparations. But right now, they don't even acknowledge their role in the war. I would prefer if there were no atomic bombs. in this alternate scenario. the USA will invade Japan main islands and it might take 3-6 months to force the Japanese bandits to surrender. in the meantime, the Chinese Nationalist forces will launch a large scale campaign ( Operation Carbonado ) to recapture South China. if they would move beyond the South to the East and North, they would blockade the Communist troops as well. if the blockaded Communists couldn't enter Manchuria after the end of ww2, they wouldn't have the weapons to fight the Nationalists, there will be no civil war after ww2, and China will not lose 20 million people. our forefathers could happily return home to China, not forced to stay in foreign lands.
