Still slightly better than these chaps.![]()
The prerequisite for being a politician in Singapore is that you have to be fugly.
Still slightly better than these chaps.![]()
Did you let your rifle fuck you in the ass too?
Yours truly thought so too, and used to believe that his country provided many of his committed comrades with a meritocratic army unit, which allowed a tremendous amount of opportunities to raise to the ranks of officers and senior specialists even if you are born an ordinary Singaporean.
![]()
Unfortunately, yours truly's faith became disillusioned when his fellow Armour men and poor NSmen officers were sufficiently humiliated by biased and jealous hybrid (non-green beret) Infantry parade officers/warrant officers during the last two days of his military career in the above parade.
Your truly naively thought that he commanded a little respect after contributing his youth to the Defence of his nation, but only to realised that his fair level of recognition and respect is similar to that of a BMTC recruit in the same parade.
So much for "We Were Soldiers", it just meant that we deserved to be unfairly treated being a NSman. Hahaha

Beat that!!!!

frankly speaking, to catch the eye of PAP, you have to have niche skills, for the above lady, she is malay and a doctor, this is a rare catch for PAP to use her as a tool to pacify the malay minority if there is a need, in sinkieland.
what talking you? Armour wear Black beret.
I thought thats a iindian
Uncle, 452sar meant that the men in Armour Formation were insulted by those 戴绿帽的 parade warrant officers.
It very common for green beret WO to find trouble against armour formation personnels. I suffered in the hand of tekong RSM(green beret) when I was posted there for 8 months after unit ATEC. First day he already insult us because of the black beret and forbid us to wear black beret on duty, told us to get green beret or wear jockey cap because he said armour nothing special. Most of us at training coys ignore him and he will find faults during COS duty. Once I kenna tekan by him at camp 3 parade square because I was conducting first parade and he saw a recruit down 20 by the DO. Because the DO in PT kit and I in no. 4 with black beret, he thought I the one punishing the recruit. He shouted inches from my face that I has no authority to punish anybody because I only useless armour corporal. He refused to let me explain and keep fucking so loud till the DO come over to see what happen. Only when the DO explain what happen did the RSM stop and did an about turn and walk off. But despite the arsehole RSM, that tekong stint was the best time of my NSF experience.
You are philosophical. In real life, you either win or lose. In both situations, you accept the outcome like a true hero and even when you win, you continue to plough on.
Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy! He who goes out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, bringing his sheaves with him.

johntan and leongsam would just say you did not work hard enough
or you did not work smart .
that's their standard answer to everyone earning less than 3K a month.
Yours truly acknowledges that in life, rewards are never guaranteed for hardwork.
Unfortunately, older military units are the only place that yours truly can find true locals from all walks of life, hahhaa, in a way, getting stuck together for a common purpose. At the helm, we have outstanding businessmen, eg. Mr Ho who runs the one of the coolest locally-owned manufacturing and development facility in the Singapore.

We have several non uni-grads who makes more than MBA grads from their own start-ups.
We have hawkers who enjoy roaring business for their fish soup or local delights.
We have tuition center operators who draw an income higher than our Medical specialist officers.
We have scholar-CPLs who became team leads and Directors in their own organisations
We have top bankers and several financial controllers and CPA from the ranks of ordinary WOSEs.
We have 2-3 civilians pilots who are brushing shoulders with the hottest stewardesses in the midst of their job.
We have former bengs who turned over a new leaf and earning more than a fresh grad with their Class 5 licenses.
We have former bengs who are running kopitiams and sophisticated offshore companies.
hahaha, We still have bengs promoted into the top-hierarchy of betting syndicates that accept bets for the least-important matches that you can think of, eg. NUS vs University of Malaya
Of course, we have also our fair share of brothers whose lives got ruined by debts, divorces, gambling and bad health.
And many many more of us, who can hold our liquor so well, either trained during the course of their work, or frequently drowning the sorrows in life with alcohol.
Putting us together, we were like mini singapore.
please lah, a malay name, she is Assoc Prof Fatimah Lateef.
