7 in 10 say employers not quite supportive of flexi-work: poll

from Channel NewsAsia Singapore News

SINGAPORE: Nearly 7 in 10 respondents in a survey by the labour movement here say their employers are not quite supportive of flexi-work arrangements.

This is the inevitable outcome with a non-existent/fradulent/powerless labour movement: exploitation of workers.

In better countries, employers will get fucked upside down by the unions if you stay back to work after sunset, even if you do it voluntarily.

I agree, weak labour union, weak legislation, weak leader, reckless influx of cheap labour are perfect environment for unproductivity, depressed wages, high cost of livings, labour exploitations and society divides.

You name it, Singapore has it, and PAP is not willing to change the status quo.

Tell 92% Singaporeans who don't support he white paper to translate them into vote come GE2016. PAP will lose power instantly. No more questions asked and all the current nightmares will be vanished overnight.

......!

Same...same even if you are working with an MNCs in Spore. I was working with one & even if you have an Australian, Brti, Irish,.... boss they are aware of the environment in Spore & take advantage of the workers.

Don't expect things to improve as long as the PAP is in power

Quite common to find such bastards and hypocrites. Just cannot fathom how can they
go about doing evil deeds and then seeking forgiveness. LOL

Nothing evil about capitalism. If you are not happy, go start your own business. You can always resign and look for other employment or start your own business and employ others.

There is nothing wrong with capitalism per se, but unchecked and unregulated capitalism will be to the detriment of everyone. Things such as the collapse of Lehman Brothers will inevitably happen.

The tripartite bullshit can still be seen on Sinkies TV. We simply do not want to do it. Sigh.

Collapse of Lehman Brother is actually a good thing. Fear is a good check for greed. If you take out fear, the greed will grow to something so big it will crash big.

The problem of the last financial crash is not unregulated but to much regulation and gov control that retail investors thought it was safe cos gov is regulating them and fear was not a concern. Same with property crash where everyone bought property at high price as they thought it was a guarantee profit making deal and fear was nowhere to be found.

If investors have the fear of losing money, they would be much more careful with whatever they buy or invest and do their due diligence, and not just take for granted that it is safe because gov is regulating and fear is not there to check the greed of the investors.
