Adam Whittington, 38, a British National believed to have entered Singapore illegally, has been charged with endangering the safety of a 2 year old boy.

On Tuesday morning, Whittington allegedly went to an apartment in the west of Singapore and forcefully pulled the young boy away from his guardians causing him to suffer a fall.

The young boy's parents are separated and it is understood that he was staying with some relatives in Singapore.

Neighbours reported that they heard screaming on Tuesday morning and saw an old woman crying at the house after the young boy was taken away.

Whittington had been with the young boy's mother, apparently trying to get the boy back.

He and two others, 30 year old Wilson Allan from Australia and the 2 year old's mother, also a foreigner, had allegedly also arrived in Singapore illegally from Malaysia by boat.

The three arrived at around 6am at Raffles Marina in Tuas, a country club that is only authorised for landing between 9am and 5pm.

Investigations are ongoing into the case and the three are currently remanded at the Police Cantonment Complex.

For entering Singapore illegally, the three face a fine of up to $4000, or 12 months in jail, Whittington faces an additional 6 months in jail or fine up to $2,500 for the rash act endangering the young boy.

The case will be heard again on August 28 and the boy has been returned to his guardians.
