Snowden tweets response to Chapman's marriage proposal

US whistleblower Edward Snowden, who has been charged by US authorities for leaking documents detailing a wide-scale internet and phone surveillance program operated by the US National Security Agency, has answered the marriage proposal of the former Russian spy Anna Chapman on July 5th, reports the Moscow-based Voice of Russia.
Snowden is waiting in the transit zone of Moscow's Sheremetyevo International Airport for positive responses after he applied for asylum in 21 countries, although he has received a string of rejections for at least 11 of the nations so far.
Anna Chapman, a former Russian spy deported from the United States in 2010, asked Snowden to marry her through her Twitter account on Jul. 3. She had previously worked as a real estate agent in New York but was accused of being part of a Russian spy ring with nine others and was deported back to Russia under a spy exchange.
Chapman received a positive response from Snowden two days after her online proposal, with the former NSA contracter saying on his Twitter account "I would have married Chapman regardless of the rest. Goddamn, just look at her."
While most observers believe Snowden's Twitter account is fake, it would be near impossible for him to go through with a ceremony as he is not allowed to enter Russia territory. Alexei Pushkov, who heads the international affairs committee in Russia's parliament, said that Snowden accepted Venezuela's offer of asylum on July. 7, according to the USA Today. Meanwhile, Russia hopes that Snowden will seek refuge in another country as soon as possible as his stay at the Moscow airport is putting a strain on the already tense diplomatic relations between Russia and the US.
