...The short detention order is a community sentencing option that is intended to be less disruptive and stigmatising than jail....
Cabs should be equipped with an airsickness bag.
Sometimes, it is what they don't tell you that tells the most. Same as when you're dealing with people in real life.
After having drinks together, a jobless man invited the woman he had just met to a hotel nearby. When she said no and pushed him away, he beat her up and left her lying injured on the ground. Yesterday, Zulkifly Pardon was sentenced to six months in prison after pleading guilty to hurting Murni Wati Azni, 27, outside Palais Renaissance mall in Orchard Road...

A Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) student has been handed a three-week jail term for punching a taxi driver in his drunken stupor.
Tan Jian Liang, 24, had boarded the taxi at Boat Quay in mid-January this year, at about 1.40am. He instructed 65-year-old Seah Teck Kim to drop him off at Choa Chu Kang Crescent and fell asleep.
When Mr Seah got to Choa Chu Kang Crescent, he parked his taxi by the road and tried to wake Tan up to find out which block to drop him off.
But the taxi driver ended up getting chased by Tan around the taxi, pushed to the ground and punched repeatedly.
Another charge of damaging the NETS device in the cab was taken into consideration.
The court heard that Tan compensated the victim S$515 and also paid about S$335 for damaging the NETS device.
In mitigation, Tan, who was unrepresented, told the district judge he truly regretted his actions and pleaded for leniency.
But District Judge Lim Keng Yeow noted the offences were “very serious” although Tan is a first-time offender. CHANNEL NEWSASIA

Scholarship as free gift from PAP using Sinkies tax monies. The end result - the receiver whacked the giver out of this country resources. This scenario has happened many times and won't be the last as long as PAP continue to preach pro-ft gospel.
Yes, the name is very unusual for a sinkie born name, most likely from China. Seems like he has been here for a while, Might have gotten a scholarship to enter secondary school here and than got shitizenship. He keeps referring to singapore as our country, and to the fact that singapore was a "sleepy fishing village". Only indoctrinated FT assholes believe that. real singaporeans would have been told by their elders the fishing village story is bullshit.
Kangaroo court are the best !
Foreigners , especially white trash or spoilt rich brat Tiongs virtually get away scot-free :oIo:
the other case with 3 week jail look exactly the same offence and that Singaporean student was a first time offender but given 3 week jail. So what is the difference for this student to be given detention order. The judge ought to explain.

One is SIM grad and one is SMU grad mah. The judge will tell you SIM is shit school and grads from there might as well go to jail. Whereas SMU grads must be given light sentence and second chances. hahahaha
