Is this like the nth case involving PRC drivers? The situation is so bad that it is probably irreversible and SGs would do well to integrate the risk when on the road!

[h=2]EXPOSED: SMRT PRC bus driver under investigation for hitting Malay motorcyclist along PIE causing his limb to be severed[/h]Posted by temasektimes on May 30, 2012
The SMRT PRC bus captain who knocked into a motorcyclist when swerving right into another lane is currently under police investigation for speeding and not keeping a lookout for oncoming traffic.
The accident happened on Monday evening at around 5.55pm along the Pan Island Expressway towards Tuas before the Jalan Anak Bukit exit.
According to our informant who claimed to be a friend of the motorcyclist, he is currently twenty one years old and is a full-time National Serviceman.
Contrary to the version of events given by SMRT, the bus was speeding at 100 km/hour along the expressway and switched lanes without giving signals causing the motorcyclist to knock into the bus bumper and severing his leg.
He is still in critical condition in the hospital.
The particulars of the bus captain and the motorcyclist were not published in the press as the state media attempts to cover up another accident involving a PRC driver, barely two months after a PRC driver knocked over an elderly woman crossing the road in Sengkang.

LTA & TP should put heavy fine on the bus& heavy vehicle drive on most right lane on Expressway. Always see bus hitting 80 and above in expressway.
There one time saw a chemical tanker driving on most right lane more than 90km/h in PIE hitting all the tree leave leaving a trail of green leave on the road.

M-cyclist loses leg in worst of 3 accidents

SINGAPORE - A motorcyclist lost part of his right leg in a road collision along the Pan Island Expressway (PIE) on Monday, the most severe of at least three crashes reported on Sunday and Monday.

His leg was severed from above the knee, after it had become sandwiched between an SMRT bus and his motorcycle. It is not clear how the leg got caught or how it ended up being severed.

The accident took place at around 6pm on Monday, along the PIE towards Tuas, before the Jalan Anak Bukit exit.

Before a Singapore Civil Defence Force ambulance arrived, eight motorists went to the aid of the motorcyclist. Among them were off-duty firefighters and a former Civil Defence Academy trainee, reported The Straits Times.

They eventually managed to stop the blood flowing by using a tourniquet, a device for arresting bleeding by forcibly compressing a blood vessel.

A report in citizen journalism website Stomp said that they had put the severed leg in a yellow plastic bag by his side and placed his stump on his helmet to elevate the injury to slow bleeding.

The Stomp contributor, known only as Mr Alan, recounted the incident: "One man even volunteered to fetch ice from a nearby petrol station to slow down cell death in the amputated limb in the hope that it could be re-attached."

Others helped to divert traffic as the accident had caused a massive jam along the PIE.

The motorcyclist, technician Muhammad Farhan Yusof, 24, was conscious throughout the ordeal. The New Paper reported that he was on his way home when his motorcycle collided with the bus.

One of the motorists who offered help was police officer Lim Choon Chiang, 31, who reported the incident on Stomp.

Mr Lim, who was off-duty when the incident happened, told my paper that the crash was "really bad", but he was able to remain calm "due to the nature of my job".

"Our hands all became very bloody and it was quite gory, but we all just stayed calm and did what we had to do," said Mr Lim to The Straits Times.

Eight people stopped to assist a motorcyclist who had lost his leg in an accident on the PIE on Monday evening.

The man had attempted to navigate around an SMRT bus.

His limb was severed after it was stuck between the bumper of the bus and his bike, and his leg was placed in a yellow bag by his side.

The stump of his limb was placed onto his helmet to elevate the injury to slow bleeding.

According to a fuckwarezone forumer ‘kediraksith’, the bus driver is a mainland Chinese:“My friend just told me its his friend who is the victim, currently in ICU still not conscious … The bus driver who knocked him down… IS A ****ING TIONG DRIVER AGAIN!!!!”For some strange reason, the accident was not reported in the mainstream media.

they want to cut cost so they employ these type of drivers from PRC. Own citizens die never mind as long as profits up and they get good salaries and dividends.

Which is why even though Denmark and Singapore are similar in population size, they are the ones with world renowned companies like Novo Nordisk, Carlsberg, Bang & Olufsen, Maersk, Lego whereas Singapore has nothing to be proud of. Finland has Nokia. Singapore only has gongkia.

The Chinese wordings in the banner are wrong - it should be 招安 not 招聘. That is the word to use when you recruit bandits!

Well said! If cut cost until like that, might as well go and train some monkeys to drive the buses.

Too many cases liaoz. SMRT better do something about these foreign drivers.

Kelvin seah was drunk and not behind the wheel of a 5 ton public vehicle. irrelevant comparison.
you should compare the number of victims of sinkie vs ah tiong bus drivers.

Re: SMRT PRC bus driver under investigation for hitting Malay motorcyclist along PIE

I thought we should be welcoming these FTs that supposedly are doing jobs that Singaporean do not want? Since this is the norm in China, in fact, in China the bus driver would make sure the motorist is dead by ramming over him mulitple times so as to minimise the payout to the the victims family. Singaporean should be adopting ,accommodate and helping these bus drivers.
