before the GE2011, the MRT was already operating at its maximum safety capacity (for peak periods), and they did not foresee the population growth to this level when the MRT was built,,,,,

without improving and upgrading of the infrastructure of the SMRT, and simply increasing the trips by adding more cars to pacify the commuters, this kind of disruptions will be a common feature,,,,, whether it has compromised the safety of commuters or not, let's see if we need to have the indian train or china train accidents to happen to wake the government and voters up.,,,,
