SINGAPORE: SMRT CEO Saw Phaik Hwa has told Channel NewsAsia that she has no plans to step down over the disruptions.

She said she's truly sorry for the inconvenience and discomfort faced by commuters, and that as CEO she's naturally responsible.

But she said being responsible does not mean walking away, instead it means doing all she can to get the problem fixed.

She said she is staying put to make everything right.

Ms Saw also admitted there were several problems that surfaced during the disruptions.

These included detraining procedures, announcements to the public, and bus shuttling arrangements.

She acknowledged that SMRT could have done better.

Fine. But she can resign after things become normal. Then she has no more excuse.

Or resign after the COI (whatever the outcome).

But she said being responsible does not mean walking away, instead it means doing all she can to get the problem fixed.

Better save this excuse as a template when someone wants you to resign.

I think what she means is "getting her ass fixed" instead.

Whoever suffers from premature erectile disorder ought to print out Saw's picture. One will remember Medusa the Gordon...yeah, one look at Saw will turn your hot rod into a flaccid potato chip.

If she resigns, then it will set a bad precedent. In future, top honchos who screwed up will be expected to be accountable. How can they let such a thing to happen.

Wayang on her part to say she considered resignation just a few days ago. Wonder what prompted her to say that in the first place? now a U turn.

Some psycho analysis: first create sympathy and cool down tempers after receiving call from MIW. Then the situation became fluid to her favour - some improvements implemented for Saturday's incident. Now coast is clear, can go back to normalcy - as if nothing happens, let the system takes care of itself over the next few months to correct the hardware. $$$ salary still coming in next half a year at least which amounts to almost $900k. Why not if then kena fired also good as money in pocket liao.

Soon to be former SMRT CEO Saw Phaik Phaik has told mouthpiece CNA that she has no plans to step down over the disruptions but probably resign sometime later following Wong Cunt Sing's face saving exit plot. The actual problem is no one dares to be the SMRT CEO because heck knows when will next breakdown will cum.

She said she's not sorry for the inconvenience and discomfort faced by commuters, and that as Head Honcho she's cannot be responsible for her former DFS cronies incompetence. In Japan, Big Bosses bow but in Peasantpore, its peasants who bow when their feudal lord screws up.

But she said being responsible means some lesser peasants will be sacked in the cumming weeks, for it means doing all she can to get the problem fixed - the Wong Cunt Sing way.

She said she is staying put to make everything right and will look for a face saving exit eventually. During this time, she will remember war-monger Emperor Hirohito words, 'to endure the unendurable' while netizens poke fun of her daily.

Ms Saw also admitted there were several problems that surfaced during the disruptions.

These included detraining procedures, announcements to the public, and bus shuttling arrangements. Other problems not to be revealed are the crazy cost cuttings, cheap Pinoys and rampant politicking by ex-DFS cronies that degraded operational excellence.

She acknowledged that SMRT do better after she submit her latest proposals to hike fares to overhaul the rail systems .

Aiya, let her clean up her own smelly shit before she leave for good. Otherwise her successor will step on her poo and that will be very "sway" (bad luck) so to speak.

Well like that also can , any Tom dick Harry also can take high Post in SG , cock up whole show also never mind, song song take money, CBL also can , taiwan system. Still can earn profit n safe, wherelse SG is expensive n unsafe , worse is left to suffocate n die.think that thick skin n incapable better step down, she better don die due hold to the post cos in life is don take whatever that are not yours cos hv retribution

"Being responsible does not mean walking away, instead it means doing all she can to get the problem solved."

In what way is she able to contribute to solve the problem? She has been been given the chance to buck up in the graffiti case and did she? The repeated graffiti cases have already proven her leadership skill in handling such cases is lacking.

Anyway, good for her, meanwhile she can continue to enjoy the high pay increase she got in the last year, continue to receive year end bonus and may be even in time for next year pay increase!

With a big fat paycheck of SGD$1.8 million big ones ( other fringe benefits not included yet ) , you think Saw would step down ?

Chio..???

I would love to see this arrogant butch resigns (it's just an euphemism for being sacked actually) as much as anyone else, but the trouble is that it won't change things because another PAP running dog, clone or crony that is totally beholden to LKY will be appointed in her place. The real cause for this MRT episode is not those technical mumbo-jumbo of third rail or whatever. The root of all evil is that the CEO of SMRT, like any CEO of a government-linked companies has to make super profits in order to fatten up the reserves continuously to please LKY. To do that, you will have to increase fares or charges to boost earnings and at the same time spend as little expenditure as possible (which in turn mean a minimal maintenance programme). So honestly, nothing will change even after her head has rolled and being kicked about like a football.

Saw PH should take a pay cut or even volunteer to take just $1 pay if she is really sincere about not walking away and staying to solve the problem.
