I think the SMRT limo services should just be banned. Too bad for them if they think it is too bad for the customers to wait longer. These taxi drivers should just leave for other type of taxi service.

The idea for a premium taxi service for passengers who are willing to pay is not wrong by itself.

Remember the Mercedes Benz taxis in the past, they once refused to pick up fares on the road, and they were once expensive. What did the taxi drivers do, in order to make enough to pay for rentals, they form cartels at the hotels, greasing palms of the doormen etc, making their service exclusive, until LTA 'busted' that.

Now you see the Benz taxis everywhere....they have lowered the fares & they pick passengers anywhere.

We do have premium cabs service, in which you want them you call, the 6 seater taxis, the Maxi Cabs, the space cabs, private on call service to the taxi drivers that offer their services & whatever out there, you pay for what you get.

The premium black Chevrolet taxis should not be in the queue at the airport for ordinary travellers, they should be consign to the Limousine service provided at the airport, where the passengers is willing to pay for a stylish, comfortable & expensive ride.

Why the Black taxis congregate at the airport taking over from the Mercedes Benz Limo cabs and so forth, they drivers now are feeling the heat, finding it hard to service the rentals. I can guess the 'honeymoon' period for discount rentals & incentives must have expired or SAWed off!!

So now, desperate congregate at the airport, hoping for a kill..
