SM Goh reveal furure new finance minister

SINGAPORE: Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong said he is glad that the Managing Director of the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), Heng Swee Keat, who is stepping down on April 1, is prepared to take the rough and tumble of politics.

It is the clearest indication so far that Mr Heng is ready to be in the People's Action Party team for the upcoming General Election.

In his latest Facebook posting, Mr Goh added that Mr Heng is not stepping away from the MAS and has been appointed a board member.

Mr Goh described Mr Heng as a high flyer and a sound central banker.

He added that Mr Heng also has the potential to be a Minister and core member of the fourth generation team.

HSK was offered the CP post at least 5-7 years ago. He turned it down. He is too intelligent to be CP. Good man but somewhat disappointed he now chooses to be a MIW.

With the recent upping of ministers pay that only diety can dream of, a man's will is put to test. Obviously, he failed like many other newbies. Greed is the root to all corruptions. I have no faith in Singapore 4th generation leader under PAP umbrella.
