You obviously have never traveled or lived outside of Singapore to amke such a moronic statement. Almost every major city in the world has citizens from all over the world. Many cities have even more races and nationalities than Sinkiepore living closely together with their own small towns without problems for many years. Stop talking about other big cosmopolitan cities and their vibrant lifestyle. Whilst I agree Singapore is very attractive place to be if you have the money, many less well off native Singaporeans have no option to leave and live in a smaller city or go back to their hometown. We are an island nation without any hinterland. This is our home.

Unlike the often quoted NYC or London, locals there can chose to move away from the crowd and high costs and they have a choice. We on the other hand have no place to go. Even if you camp on beach, you need permit and how many permits can you apply? Live in Ubin?
