Enlisted to the Singapore Armed Forces in 2007, I was commissioned to rank in 2008. In the 10 years of service, I was deployed on various multi-lateral exercises and overseas deployments. Notably, I served in the Multi-nation Combined Task Force that was involved in the counter-piracy efforts in Gulf of Aden (GoA). Also, I was part of the core Organizing Committee of the International Maritime Review (IMR) in 2017. The IMR comprised 46 ships from 21 Navies and 2 Coast Guards, amassing 6000 distinguished guests and participants from 44 nations. Within the 10 years, I also graduated from Nanyang Technology University in 2012 with an Engineering Degree in Materials Science.
After I left the Force in 2017, I dived into the F&B scene. I first co-founded SG Hawker, a start-up focusing on a one-stop F&B solution platform suitable for consumers, merchants and suppliers alike. In the next year, I started Sio Food Group which aim to serve affordable and good local food. There are a variety of brands under Sio Food, with some brands serving Halal cuisine as well! At our peak in 2019, we have more than 30 shops island-wide.
I am experienced and strong in complex, multi-dimension planning & operations. Possess strong analytical and communication skills. My biggest strength still lays in being a team player. Effectively managing teams and leveraging on their strengths to fully maximize their potentials.
Leisurely, I enjoy most water sports. Diving, swimming, wakeboarding, fishing etc. due to the relaxing and calming effects of the sea. Soccer is a good reflection of my love for being in teams and teamwork!
