The Traffic Police here are starting a new initiative to reward good drivers by pulling them over and giving them complements and petrol vouchers.
The initiative is part of the “Spot the Conscientious Motorists” program which was actually launched in October 2013.
Since the start of the program, 391 motorists have been commended for their good driving habits such as signalling early, giving way and more.
Now, instead of just a commendation, drivers may also receive $40 petrol vouchers and a plush toy.
However, the initiative is also causing a brief moments of alarm for some who are pulled over as they are seemingly pulled over for no reason but they receive pleasant surprises when police hand them the vouchers and toys while complementing them on their good driving.
