Your Prime Ministar has always defended a one-party gabrament as the best form of democracy in Sinkieland and that it checks on itself to prevent corruption, nepotism and cronyism among its ranks.
A logical offshoot of the "ownself check ownself" theory is "ownself praise ownself".
In a newspaper article titled "Newspapers here top survey in media satisfaction" published in The Sunday Times, July 17, 2016, page A12, Media Development Authority came out with its own findings with a startling statement:"When it came to the quality of content, the ranking of newspapers jumped from sixth to first, a "reversal of the statistically significant drop in satisfaction", the MDA said."
The Sunday Times also quoted former nominated MP Calvin Cheng as saying:"He also said that the results are contrary to what some might think, that "people are cynical of and distrusting of media in Singapore. And that quality is going down.""
