SingTel shop screened R21 movie featuring nudity
I WAS shopping at Northpoint shopping centre last Friday evening and came across a SingTel shop at Basement 1. I walked in to take a look at the latest mobile phones, and I noticed a movie screened on one of the LCD TV sets (I believe it was to showcase one of the mio TV channels).
I stood there to watch and to my surprise, the movie was American Pie Presents The Naked Mile, which is supposed to be an R21 movie. There were scenes of men and women running around naked that were not censored.
There were students and teenagers in the shop and the show attracted a few of them, who stood there to watch.
How can the shop screen an R21 movie without considering that people who are underage can watch it? What is the point of movie ratings when shops can show R21 movies to the public? And is it necessary to screen an R21 movie to advertise a product?
