The CPF Advisory Panel will be making their recommendations to the Government soon. Here are 10 things we hope to see they will change.

1. Do away with minimum sum, or at least a more comfortable level of minimum sum.
2. Have incentives to encourage people to want to keep money in CPF rather than strict enforcement.
3. Allow options to borrow against CPF for life events (eg. Weddings, funeral, job losses etc).
4. Allow options for unlimited CPF topup (because of the interest).
5. Raise older worker’s CPF contribution so that it is on par with younger workers.
6. Simplification of CPF rules. (Today you need a diploma in CPF to understand how it works).
7. National Service and interns should enjoy CPF contributions too.
8. Allow for options to contribution rate (whether or not you want 20%, 15% or 10%).]
9. Broaden Medisave usage: for example medical tests, outpatient and more diseases.
10. Have better projection on the minimum sum, instead of increasing it every year.

1. Should have min sum. Now min sum already very basic.
2. Agree maybe with min 4% interest rate for all acc regardless amount
3. Not agree borrow for wedding/funeral( because wedding and funeral actually not expensive unless they want be luxury. Job losses agree maybe for 6 month. Eg. set at $1500/month
4. Agree
5. Agree anyone age 65 and below should be par.
6. Agree. Simplify
7. Agree NS CPF.
8. Cannot allow option. Because it will be misuse. Eg. SME will ask employee to reduce contribution rate for employer also pay less. Long term it will become worst bcos will not meet min sum.
9. Actually medical should be cheap. Only in SG gov hospital running profit. In whole world medical is heavily gov subsidy or free even in 1st world.
10. Should not increase every year maybe review min sum every 5/10 year once.

As long as the PAP controls parliament, we will never know how much is left in the CPF:confused:

It's becoming obvious that you will have to vote for the opposition if you want to find out what is left of OUR CPF. I suspect the worse.
