Filmgarde Cineplexes shuts down last outlet at Kallang, exits industry​

The Bugis+ branch of Filmgarde Cineplexes closed in 2022 along with its Century Square outlet. The homegrown cinema announced the closure of its last remaining outlet at Leisure Park Kallang on March 25, 2025.

Cathay cinema at Jem to close as landlord seeks $4.3 million in rental arrears​

The closure of the Cathay cinema in Jem came after more than a year of negotiations with its landlord, Lendlease.

During our school days, my friends and I hanged out at outram park area and one very very late night, we sneaked in for fun and managed to watch the movie and smoke our cigarettes in there.... After the school holidays, we go back to school and brag about our adventure and the RA movie lol.....

I was at Golden Village Bugis + to watch the 9:30 pm movie "F1" last Monday. There were less than 20 patrons in the cinema.

Last time every weekend can go watch movie. Nowadays maybe once a year, only if worth to watch on big screen.
