I am surprised that you have no idea that the concrete and asphalt surfaces i.e. buildings, roads and infrastructure are the primary drivers of the UHI effect. Owing to how they absorb a significant amount of solar radiation during the day and release it at night, they prevent the city from cooling down as much as surrounding natural landscapes. Densely packed urban structures further trap this heat, leading to an overall rise in temperature in SG's concrete jungle.
