From documents seen by Mothership, Neng's current bill stands at S$135,110.60 and counting.
Ong disclosed that Neng's insurance only covers up to SS15,000 of the bill, while the combined savings of the entire Ong family only adds up to around a quarter of the outstanding amount.
This drove her to crowdfunding platform Give.asia to appeal for donations, and raise the amount needed to not only pay the medical bill, but also to allow her to receive continued care and treatment back in Indonesia.

This is sad, many household employ maid as if it is free but they never think of if the maid need heavy medical fees ,they hv to bear ,all employ like as if they are just a pet but when fave problem househd employer should access whether they are capable to foot the bill if the helper need medical attention, its not like a tissue to use n throw ,n hear to rest to crowd funding ,CB,when hired they should know whether they hv the means to pay or give the helper periodic medical chk up but all was bolld test n GP consultation.

Many still blur blur ,if maid get covid n in icu the bill will be 100k plus for 1 mth ,this is not highlighted by the clowns ,cos everyone thought that sg will foot the bills, go check it out if Don believe ,who is paying ,it is actually the employer

Why their maid's hospital bill is public responsibility?
Why is the maids hospital bill the employers responsibility? It's like if a singkie worker gets sick..the employers pay? N she has a brain aneurysm
.better to let her move on...treating her is causing her to suffer n a burden to her family n in this case her employer. Fuck up rules

I didn't say it's employer's responsibility either.
It's the maid's problem, but this family chose to keep her alive despite the odds, hence it becomes their problem.

"She's Family". ok then.

Than the family should shoulder the burden and bear the consequences. Anyway only idiots will donate and in singkieland there are many

Ruptured brain aneurysm, even if survived she would be in a vegetative state, are they going to take up the responsibility for her after care as well? There's time to be compassionate, and there's time to be realistic. They are barely compassionate either by dragging her suffering.

Being a maid owner my uncle also ever presented the same question to mom when their website state is employer's leesponsibility for maids medical fees while my uncle's employer a big mnc is not leesponsible for my uncle's medical fees. Mom couldn't leeply this query.

From mom website:
Regardless of the severity of your FDW's illness, it is your responsibility as an employer to pay for her medical care. ... Employers facing financial hardship can consider making appointments for their FDWs at the Humanitarian Organisation for Migration Economics (HOME), which offers free dental care.23 Oct 2019

A clever employer will make the maid buy extra medical insurance and deduct from her monthly celery....
