[h=1]China to take Japanese leader on: FM[/h]BEIJING, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) -- China will take on Japanese leader Shinzo Abe till the very end if he persists in visiting the war-linked Yasukuni Shrine, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said on Thursday.

China has stated repeatedly its stance on Abe's visit to the shrine, which honors Japan's war dead including 14 convicted Class-A war criminals from WWII, Hua told a daily press briefing.

The move whitewashes Japanese aggression and colonial rule, overthrows the international community's trial of Japanese militarism and challenges the post-war international order, the spokeswoman said.

It is Abe himself who shuts the door on dialogue with Chinese leaders, said Hua, adding that his statements show that he does not have any intention to better ties with neighboring countries including China.

Abe said in a television program on Wednesday that he will continue to carry on with the responsibility of being prime minister even if his shrine visit was criticized, according to a report of Japan's Jiji Press.

Abe's remark indicated that he plans to continue to visit the shrine, said the report.

It is the Japanese leader's responsibility to face up to history and reflect upon and correct his mistake, said Hua.
"If he persists in his wrong course, and adheres to a road of confrontation and provocation, we will definitely take him on till the very end," she said.

In response to a report that Japan confirmed China canceled three delegations originally planned to visit Japan this month, Hua said Abe's shrine visit has apparently had a negative impact on China-Japan ties.

"It is Japan which should take all the responsibility," she said, urging its leader to change course.
When asked to comment on Japan's recent move to register 280 remote islands as national assets, Hua said China will keep a close eye on the issue.

Japan's move on maritime issues should accord with international laws and not impair the interests of other countries and the international community, said Hua.

what i heard from the mouth of a nihon jun, "the shrine also have the remains of those innocent killed in the war, so it seems ok to go and pay respects along with the war criminals"

seemingly japanese failed to acknowledege and learnt from their lesson from world war 2, this kind of behaviour bound to happen again.

Abe should go and visit the Yasukuni shrine every day. China would be so angry. Abe would win all the Nationalist votes for future elections...

Singapore regrets the visit by Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to the Yasukuni shrine on Thursday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) said on Sunday.

SINGAPORE: Singapore regrets the visit by Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to the Yasukuni war shrine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) said on Sunday.

A spokesman from the MFA said Singapore's consistent position has been that such visits reopen old grievances, and are unhelpful to building trust and confidence in the region.

The MFA spokesman added that tensions in the region have been rising due to the recent series of events, actions and counter-actions, taken by a number of different parties.

And Thursday's visit to the Yasukuni shrine, occurring against this backdrop and at this time, is likely to evoke further negative feelings and reactions in the region.

The MFA spokesman stressed that it is in the interest of all parties to exercise restraint, avoid actions that might further raise tensions, and seek to create an environment of greater mutual trust and understanding.

To really fully explain the implications of Japanese PM visiting the shrines, the only way is build a wonderland named Hiroshima and Nagasaki and decorate the train rides as bomber planes dumping atomic bombs onto civilians. Then add the special effects of burning children and patients with skins falling off their bodies while on bed.

Peasants suffer all for the motive of politicians - bushido codes, samurai swords, son of heaven, my smelly bloody right foot!

[h=1]China slams 'troublemaker' Japan after Africa visit[/h]

ADDIS ABABA: China launched a scathing diplomatic attack against Japan on Wednesday, warning African nations of an impending "resurrection of Japanese militarism" and branding Prime Minister Shinzo Abe a "troublemaker".

In a press conference held the day after Abe wrapped up a landmark African tour aimed at boosting Japan's presence in the continent, China's ambassador to the African Union accused him of trying to undermine Beijing's own diplomatic reach.
"Abe has become the biggest troublemaker in Asia," Xie Xiaoyan, who is also China's ambassador to Ethiopia, told reporters.

"He has worked hard to portray China as a threat, aiming to sow discord, raising regional tensions and so creating a convenient excuse for the resurrection of Japanese militarism," the ambassador said at the news conference, during which he showed photographs of tortured and dead Chinese victims of World War II.

He alleged that the conservative Japanese leader's visit to Africa was part of what he described as a "China containment policy".

"The world will have to be on the alert that this prime minister is leading the country onto a very dangerous road, and the international community should do everything to prevent Japan from going down even further along the road," he said.

Xie also repeated criticism over Abe's visit last month to the Yasukuni war shrine, believed to be the repository of around 2.5 million of Japan's war dead, including several high-level officials executed for war crimes after World War II.

"Think how provocative it would be if Germany were to pay homage to a shrine honouring say, Hitler," he said.

Abe's three-country Africa tour, which took him to Ivory Coast, Mozambique and Ethiopia, was aimed at boosting Japan's economic and political ties with Africa, where China's widespread investments and interests are long-established.
