This part of Singapore is not part of kallang catchment area. Northeast water go into either seletar or serangoon rivers. But both rivers no longer tidal rivers but barraged into freshwater reservoirs with a waterway built across punggol connecting both rivers. Hence there a waterway mall.

Drainage thru the 2 rivers are more than adequate.
PAP development of the northeast but neglected water evacuation considerations.
