[h=2]Singapore Not A Migrant Country Anymore[/h]

In respond to the many people out there that support that Singapore is a migrant country, no doubt Singapore was a migrant country and now what wrong with wanting to be recognized and at the same time having an identity as Singapore and Singaporean? Even when most of the time the calling and naming of Singapore as a migrant country are by the new citizens, perhaps they long wanted to be recognized as Singaporean thus they are calling Singapore a migrant country in order for them to identify themselves as Singaporean.
These people are right to call Singapore a migrant country but they have forget, many other country around the world are migrant country as well, just look at USA, where do most of the citizens from USA came from in the past but now do they still call themselves by where their ancestor came from? They have an identity and that is that they are all USA citizens, Americans.
The USA is also a multi-culture and multi-racial society, just like Singapore but after many of years of searching for a common goal, they have come to recognize themselves as Americans no more no less, war and civil unrest, fighting to abolish slavery, etc. they have build themselves an identity. Singapore is just like the USA, Singaporean are now recognizing themselves as Singaporean through half a century of blood and sweat to build what Singapore is now.
The current Singapore is not just build by the PAP and Government of Singapore alone, every Singaporean, from past and now contributed, even the foreigner who came here to work but Singapore ultimately belong to Singaporean alone and no one can deny that not even the PAP and Government of Singapore. What is a nation when there is no identity to speak of? Then how can it be identify as a nation?
Singapore used to be a migrant country like the USA but as Singaporean build up Singapore they also build up an identity for themselves, if new immigrant cannot accept this fact then why do they want to be Singaporean in the first place? Why are they here? Why are they still holding on to their previous identity? If people keep calling Singapore as a migrant country how can Singapore aspire to be a great nation like USA? If people keep saying that Singapore is a migrant country, Singapore can never be a nation but yet Singapore is here on the map of earth and a recognize country even by UN. So please stop calling Singapore a migrant country, especially those in Parliament, if new citizen or migrant cannot recognize themselves as Singaporean then they have no place in the Parliament or worst they have no place here in Singapore, simply because they are still thinking that Singapore is a migrant country.
Singapore is a country with an identity and the people identify themselves as Singaporean, so stop saying Singapore is a migrant country because that was in the past and now with this identity be proud to be call Singaporean and no one can say that Singaporean are just migrant and be proud to be that common Singaporean core build by true blue Singaporean not migrant, for those that who want to be Singaporean they need to know these facts and stop saying how good it were back in their homeland, because Singapore is your homeland now and not their previous country. If these people are determine to be Singaporean, act like Singaporean, and think like Singaporean and not like what they were and who they were before.
Singapore belongs to Singaporeans.
