Middle class peasants live on the surface.
Elites live in ivory towers.

actually I've often wondered about this. with the growing climate catastrophe, would underground living actually become superior to surface living in time to come? perhaps 50-100 years from now.
Spoiler alert: there is no climate catastrophe.
Superior maybe in case of a nuclear war but nothing beats living on the surface, not underground not on a space station or space ship not in a fallout 3 bunker for extended periods of time......that's why u see in movies and video games, dark city, pandorum, twelve monkeys, metro 2033,fallout video games, living underground or in claustrophobic spaces eventually becomes dystopian nightmares.actually I've often wondered about this. with the growing climate catastrophe, would underground living actually become superior to surface living in time to come? perhaps 50-100 years from now.
really ah? i kena con by Greta. KNN.
ok surface living it is! must work hard to secure my spot in the sunshine![]()
hdb already presented a study in 2018 about increasing “living density” (another sinkie nobel-prize worthy discovery cum invention) from 11k peepers per sqkm to 13.69k peepers per sqkm. that was why hdb blocks went from 10-12 storeys to 40 storeys and flats got smaller by over 6.9%. the “plan” was already in the works before the study was presented. if you work out the conservative sextimate of 69% of total land in sg for housing and “living”, multiply that with 13.69k per sqkm, what does that give you? 6.9m. bingo!
They didn't need that study. They were already doing it back in 2011, perhaps even earlier.
By the way, even the newer condo units are shrinking in size.
