Singapore least likely to have housing woes

In countries like Denmark, Sweden, Norway.

Cost of 5,000 sq feet House - S$300,000
Salaries of average 25 years old - S$6,000

In Singapore

Cost of 1,000 sq feet HDB Flat - S$300,000
Salaries of average 25 years old - S$2,000

I am very embarrassed by this type of survey? :o

Feel very insulted, does Straits Times reporter think we all have donkey brains?

When you reject these kind of jobs . They bring
in FTs to compensate for Singaporean's
indifference to low paying jobs . They are shutting
off the mouths of Singaporeans . Squeezing you
and suppressing you .
How long have you tolerated, Singaporeans ?

I think what they mean is as long as you can pay the monthly housing loan instalment, then it are considered affordable.
But affordable for how long?
Ah, this is a good question.
I think as long as the owner don't lost his job, it is still affordable.
Goh Meng Seng, you can ask this question to your bro marlboro Tan during the election campaign.:D

Very easy for him to answer yr question! Even HDB will to sell you at cost, if you lose yr job, you still cannot afford to cope with the mortgage repayment. The question should be after paying the mortgage, how much is left for retirement and in view of the influx of cheapo FT, what are the safety net in place for the citizens.

If the raise in monthly household income to be eligible for additional housing grant is extended to household earning up to $5,000 and the deferment of retirement age to 62 are not indication that housing is getting unaffordable and people do not have sufficient money for retirement, what is?

Looking at Singapore and Singaporeans, it is quite easy to draw some very positive conclusion:

- Jobs aplenty.
- Housing problem (if there is one) is more or less solved.
- Schooling and Education ~ one of the highest in the world.
- Healthcare ~ darnit, foreigners come to peesai for treatment!
- Despite the high living cost ~ ppl have plenty disposable income, restaurants always full.
- Healthy sales of luxury goods and overseas vacations must book way in advance.

Now, the question is - with all these, then why is (illegal) loan-sharking so prevalent?

Cheers!

stupid comparison.

HDB flat is only 99 yr lease. houses in other countries are free hold

Wonder what happened to those living int tents at East Cost:confused:

Haven't heard any follow up stories, but I heard they were locked up somewhere?

He has no home .

You sure? While he is still involved in politics, he has no home. Once retired, he will have many. CSJ is no fool.

he did not stand in 2006.
if he is serious about politics, he should get himself discharged first and stand in cumming erection...
